Description
“His Name Is Jesus was first recorded in 1981 at Bill Gaithers’ Pinebrook Studios IN. It was Jeannie Allens first major recording of her own original songs with her piano, vocals, and orchestration.
She traveled for 12 years to churches in the tri state area, PA W Virginia, Ohio, and NY sharing her music, also with her second album, I’ll Sing My Song To Him which she recorded at The Sounding Board Studio SC with Otis Forrest.
“His Name Is Jesus” was written after Jeannie received a mighty revelation of all the names of Jesus which she put to music in a powerful song.
“By The Rivers Of Babylon” was written while Jeannie was interceding for a Jewish Chaplin. Her son, Rev. David Allen made a video of it in 2016 after hearing Franklin Graham preach about the Jewish Captivity and Nehemiahs return to Jerusalem to rebuild the wall.
“Behold I Stand At The Door is taken from Revelation and ” Precious Jewels” from Malachi 3.” I Just Cant Praise Him Enough” is a happy jazzy tune and “The Lord Is My Shepherd” was taken from Psalm 23.
Many of Jeannies’ songs tell a story such as “Climb Up” where Jeannie had a vision of a life guard tower but the seat was empty. “In Thee Oh Lord” is an upbeat song with the words from the Psalms.
“Bringing Me Back” is the story of the prodigal son Luke 15:11 which became the theme of Jeannies second full length musical The Prodigal Sons 2014. Her first musical was Esther The Musical.
“Someone” is a more country style song which Jeannie wrote in the hospital after having a miscarriage of her 7th baby.
The two albums present a variety of styles all written by Jeannie. They show her versatility as a pianist, vocalist, and composer.
Her music is truly Holy Spirit inspired and a gift from God!
